Can We Keep JV Giveaways Alive?
For The Niche Giveaway 2, I added an exit survey to the signup page for members. In this survey, I asked leaving visitors why they were leaving the site without subscribing.
On this page, you can read what people had to say. At the bottom, I have summarized the survey results, and noted down some of my thoughts. Please feel free to do the same by leaving your comments. Together, we might be able to keep the concept alive…
Question: To be able to improve the site I’d really like to know why you are leaving without creating an account. Please take a second to answer the question below.

these sites used to be free in exchange for email address, but nowadays every freebie has an upsell attached, i don’t want to keep making decisions when i’m supposed to be getting freebies. They have my email and can contact later.
I don’t have the time to go back and view the free products that I may be interested in.
been there done that
Ran out of time..will come back.
I am not ready to take up any opportunity yet because I have not mastered the basics of Internet Marketing yet. My knowledge of IM is still too shallow for example I don’t even know what a squeeze page and autoresponder are and how they can be set up and operate. One very expert Internet Marketer said that people should not go headlong into any opportunity until you know all the basics and have all the foundation first otherwise you would not know what you are doing and that makes quite a lot of sense. For example before you go to war you have to know everything such as the terrians, the kind of weapons your adverseries are using and so on. His advice seem logical. So like you say I have to strength my website first. I am really a beginner. Give me time to learn things first before I rush into anything. I know there are great opportunities out there waiting. I would rather pay higher to know what I am doing. It is better to have good solid knowledge first like the expert says. Whether I take the opportunity or not I would still like to keep you as a good friend if you are willing.
Don’t have the time right now to browse through all the products… hopefully, I’ll have more time later today
Looks great I will have to sign up after a quick check to make sure I have not already signrd up
I’m afraid that this site, most likely other sites, free to join, then must upgrade status or have to join other programs, which have to pay.For instant SFI, GDI, etc. Thanks.
Product should be ranked according to it’s credibility.
What use do I have for more free products of rehashed rewrote material. I feel like I am reading co-scholar essays on the same subject. Sure I learn a new point here and there. Nothing that has made a sure fire list for me in 3 years. I started doing it my way and I got 10 people on my own this week. No JV I have been able to produce even one subscriber after I bought advertising to boot. Tired of the Hype and no bull statements. I have not given up, just taking a breather maybe.
I hate your eyebrows
I don’t need anymore email
I already have too much to do.
Information overload.
I don’t have the time right now.
according to your page, I only get free products if I refer others.
Too much crap and not enough substance. Wasting too much time on these giveaways that make me register with every one before I get anything. Then be inundated on a daily basis with offers by those who offered junk for my email.
I don’t understand the internet yet and might get ripped off.
I am losing interest in online marketing and empty promises, I am fed up of spending money on so called guarenteed opportunities that just dont work.
I’m interested in niche products other than IM products
Info overload,Too repetitious
Already signed up.
Too many giveaway sites, you guys have saturated the market
I left out all the comments about how annoying my survey-popup was, because I thought they weren’t relevant. (I did make a personal note to NEVER use such a ‘predicting’ exit popups again, since they seem to be annoying more than anything else)
I gave one a coloured background, just because I thought it was so funny… I couldn’t get myself to deleting it
It appears the main reasons people won’t sign up are:
- I don’t want to leave my email address
- JV Giveaways are all the same
The fact that there is a JV Giveaway overload, is not new. A lot has been written about it lately, and apparently most giveaway managers realize there’s a need for differentiation, because giveaways are becoming more and more niche-related.
Other ways to add differentiation?
However, several people indicated they just don’t have time to sign up, either because they have a lot of work to do (I must admit I can’t even remember when I last checked out a JV Giveaway gift list…) , or because they think it’s not just worth it to go through numerous pages of gifts to find just a couple of quality products.
Is there too much ‘crap’ going around?
If so, how can we raise the standards?
Should the number of gifts in each event be limited?
If, so, how to limit?
Another problem that is pointed out is the gigantic number of emails they receive daily. What surprises me is that people don’t come up with the idea of using a new gmail account for every giveaway. This way they can subscribe, download their gifts and forget about it again.
Of course I’m not eager to share this tip with the general public, since I want them on my mailing list (I must admit I deliberately left out that part when I released my giveaway reports.), and it must be that other giveaway marketers feel the same, ‘cos not many members use this technique.
How to clean your mailing lists? Any tips?
How to make sure people stay subscribed?
